Did you know that we have students who have been displaced from their homes for a variety of reasons? BPSD has a program that assists these students in a variety of ways with federal funding. There are limitations on how those funds are used, though, so donations are being accepted to meet other needs of students. Monetary donations will be used for those students who meet the eligibility requirements for the McKinney-Vento program. Funds will be used for a) acquisition fees for legal documents (birth certificates and state identification cards) for the ACT/SAT exams, b) fees for concurrent classes, c) purchasing gifts for those students who exceed the age requirement for holiday Angel Trees, d) graduation and senior class-related expenses, e) needed clothing and shoes, f) toiletry and hygiene items for Bruin Pantry. Credit/debit card donations need to be paid in person to Sara Vermeire at the Education Service Center, 1100 SW Jennings Avenue. Cash and check donations can be made to Sarah Rowe. Please contact her at rowese@bps-ok.org to make arrangements or if you have any questions.
