MySchoolBucks is still used to pay for à la carte items:

My School Bucks

Community Eligibility Provision for Free Breakfast & Lunch

For the 2024-2025 school year, BPSD is implementing a new option, the Community Eligibility Provision, which is available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

What does this mean for parents and their children?

All enrolled students are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school each day of the 2024-2025 school year at no charge to your household. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

What about remaining funds in your child’s lunch account from last school year?

We recommend you leave the funds in your child’s lunch account (MySchoolBucks) so they may purchase à la carte food items. À la carte food items may include a second entree, individual food items, a second meal, or frozen treats. We are excited to offer new à la carte food items that were not previously available to students.  Students are not allowed to charge à la carte food items, but can use their MySchoolBucks balances.

Other options include donating the lunch balance toward unpaid meal charges from the previous school year, or you may request a refund.

What about unpaid meal charges from the last school year?

The district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision for School Year 2024-2025 does not wipe out unpaid lunch balances from School Year 2023-2024. Households with unpaid meal charges from last school year are encouraged to work with Child Nutrition to set up a payment plan.

What is the Economically Disadvantaged Form that I am being asked to complete?

The district is requesting that households complete an Economically Disadvantaged Form for State Aid funding purposes.  This form is NOT a meal application and does not affect a student’s ability to participate in free meals.
