This year, Bartlesville High School's Student Council has the honor of hosting the OASC State Convention at BHS on November 2-4, 2024. Our theme is “Once Upon a Leader” and it is focused on altering the way each of our delegates tell their leadership story. Emma Mattke, a senior at BHS, is the OASC State Secretary for the 2023/24 term. That position comes with the large responsibility of planning and hosting of the convention.
Each year, the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils holds a three-day, state-level convention for approximately 2000 high school students and adult advisors from around the state. The purpose of such a convention is to enhance leadership and social skills, provide tools for school improvement and unity, and encourage the up-and-coming generation to make lasting impacts in their environments.
If you, or your business, are interested in supporting our local students with this large undertaking, there are a few ways to get involved. One way is to make a tax deductible donation to offset the cost of the convention. Another way is to donate goods, services, or supplies. And last is to sponsor a speaker or an event. If you would like more information about any of these options, please reach out to Heidi Lischefski (lischefskiha@bps-ok.org) for more information.
