At the baseball-themed Bruins of the Year event on April 17, 2025, Second Grade teacher Darbi Johnson was honored as Wayside's Teacher of the Year. She was introduced by student Matthew Sloan.
Sidnie Brown, who teaches Third Grade at Wayside, was not only recognized as Wayside's Rising Star Teacher, but also received the Districtwide title in that award for teachers with one to four years of experience.
Special Education Paraprofessional Katy Giles was honored as Wayside's Classified Person of the Year.
Wayside Kindergarten teacher Amy Dickey received the Kurt Schmoldt Teacher Appreciation Award.
